BRIEF HISTORICAL SKETCH
In response to the need for relevant course offerings, the Polytechnic State College of Antique offered Bachelor in Business Management in 1984. It was changed to Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1991, with concentration in Management and Entrepreneurship.
In 1993, Management as a major was phased out. Entrepreneurship was retained as it is in line with the government’s thrust and responds to the demands of the community, the province, and the region.
It was during 1997 when the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Entrepreneurship was revised to include hands-on experiences in vocational courses.
In June 2001, Marketing was offered as an additional major. In the same year, Distance Learning Center of the school was offered with the BSBA as initial offering.
In June 2002, the PSCA-Caluya Extension was established with BSBA major in Entrepreneurship as one of its course offerings.
It was in June 2003, when the BSBA Department changed its name to College of Business Education. During this year, Office Management was offered as an additional concentration of the course.
The program Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majors in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Office Management changed its concentrations into programs, namely: BS Entrepreneurship, BS in Marketing, and BS in Office Management in 2004. In the same year, two additional programs were offered namely: Bachelor of Science in Cooperatives Management and Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting.
In June 2009, Bachelor of Science in Tourism was offered to promote the Province as one of the tourist destinations in the countryand to respond to the demands of the industry. During this year, the College of Business Education was also changed to College of Management. In this year, vertical articulation scheme was implemented. Curricular programs of the Graduate School namely: Doctor of Public Administration, Master of Public Administration, and Master of Business Administration were aligned with the College of Management as one department.
In March 2010, by Resolution # 74, s. of 2010, the College of Management was changed to College of Business and Management.
In SY 2012-2013, the change of Nomenclature of B.S. in Office Management into B.S. Office Administration was approved and implemented through Resolution No. 47, s. 2012.
In March 13, 2014, by Resolution No. 12, Series of 2014, the offering of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy effective SY 2014-2015 was approved.
In October 11, 2014, by Resolution No. 53, s. 2014 the change of Nomenclature of New Curriculum of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management was approved.
In June 29, 2016, by Resolution # 34, s. of 2016, College of Business and Management (CBM) was changed to College of Business and Accountancy. The realignment of Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting to Bachelor of Accounting Technology effective2015-2016 was approved through Resolution No. 41, S. 2015.
In June 26, 2017, by then Resolution No. 30, s. 2017 the change of Nomenclature of Bachelor of Science in Tourism to Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management effective 2017-2018 was approved
Lastly, by Resolution No. 07, s. 2018, the board approved the Re-opening of the Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting and Phasing of BS Accountancy effective 1st Sem. 2018-2019
